Another busy day.
- Grocery shopping done at Target
- made salsa
- emptied and refilled the dishwasher
Another busy day.

Well, I found some motivation. But only enough to get a few things done. Like the laundry. All finished. Then I spent way too much time on the computer and updating the family blog (you can get here from there but not there from here!). Playing with pictures of the Monkeys in the snow and getting stuff ready for a sad post about a favorite pluffy dress we are going to have to say a sad goodbye to.
So I brushed my teeth twice today, finished the laundry, and made dinner. RS shoveled the driveway, again, this time with the Monkeys' "help", emptied the dishwasher, and was an all around wonderful person and helped a neighbor shovel her driveway.
It was a wonderful snow day and I'm happy to have been able to spend the day with my Monkeys, even if they don't respect the clean house I strive for. They did clean up, maybe not to my exacting standards, but they did clean up. When told to do so by a menacing RS.

Where am I? What am I doing? And who are these Monkeys who will not leave me alone?
For those of you who are not in Kansas, we are snowed in. The Monkeys didn't have school today and thus, my home that was 90% clean yesterday is now a big, fat, stinky mess. I may cry. No really, I might. I have a load of laundry in the washer. The washer is finished. The dishes in the dishwasher are clean. I did part of about 3 workouts. I lack anything that looks like motivation. I lack anything that sounds like motivation. I lack a desire to do anything at all. Oh dear, this is horrible.
Where does this all stem from? Well the 5:40 am wake up call that school was canceled was the first step. The lack of sleep from this point on was step 2. Monkey-3 waking up at 6:30 was step 3. RS going out to shovel the driveway at 6:40 was step 4. The boy Monkeys getting up at 7:00 was step 5. And I stopped counting at this point. Monkey-3 being a tearful mess was step 1,000,000. I have them down for a nap and I'm sitting hear thinking about going to put the laundry in the dryer!
I'm thankful for the time I get to spend with my children, but sometimes I really, really love the times when they are in school and not forcing me to be the mean one. I like my clean house. I miss my clean house. My Monkeys don't understand the value of a clean house. I can't wait to listen to them complain about their unclean houses someday. I'm going to laugh and laugh and laugh. Then I will look at my clean house, unmussed by three Monkeys, and snuggle with the Rocket Scientist.

Another Thursday, another busy morning.

So the RS is amazing! We have been waiting, and waiting on a life insurance check only to find that it had gotten lost, well not lost, sent to the wrong address in the wrong city, and even the wrong state! GRRRR! RS got it all figured out and ta-da, the check is on its way. At least we hope it is this time!

Just a little clean up from yesterday. I ended up skipping flossing. It was a last minute change in my day. The last few days, due to a cold that has me a little phelmy, flossing has made me a little gaggy. So I skipped it last night. I'll get back at it tonight.
Today has been exhausting already. The boy Monkeys share a room and got up at 6:40 am. Ugh! Thank goodness it is Tuesday and nap day for the little Monkeys!

I feel like I have skimped on telling the whole trust and nothing but the truth so help me God. While I have been truthful about what I am doing (and not doing) I have not told you the EVERYTHING about what really goes on. So today I will. Be prepared to have a lot to read.

Another relaxing day with the family. The kids are playing nicely downstairs and will be cleaning up this afternoon!

Oh anther weekend. This is a great one because we have no plans. No birthday parties to attend or to hostess, no plans to do anything other than watch some KU basketball and spend time as a family. We love the Jayhawks! Rock Chalk!

Another fun day. Monkey-3 had Grandparents day at preschool this morning. It basically meant a shorter morning for the kids. Then we got to go out to lunch with my parents. Yeah for Freddy's Frozen Custard!
Monkey-1 went off to school with his time line in tow. He will be home late this evening because he was invited to the skating party with one of his friends from school. So he will be getting off the bus with his friend and off to the skating party! Fun!

I'm really not in the mood to do much of anything today. I'll be amazed if anything gets done. Monkey-1's school bus didn't arrive this morning so in addition to getting Monkey-2 to preschool, I had to rush to get Monkey-1 to school on time. And just so ya know, their school are not anywhere near each other. But they are both at school and on time, so that is good news.

Does it seem like time has flown by and that it can't already be the 20th of January? Maybe it is just me, but it seems like the month is flying by.

Monkey-1 has an in-service day from school so he is home to play with Monkey-3 while Monkey-2 is at school this morning! Also to help get some stuff done. Always good to have an extra helper!

Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day! Today all three monkeys were home from school. Such fun!

Well so far I have accomplished nothing! I forgot to brush my teeth this morning and every time I have remember I was about to eat or not at home. Oh dear.
Major SNAFU at work today, which I feel horrible about. At least my boss was very understanding and I hope that everything will work out for the best.

Ah, Saturday, no laundry, no cleaning (well, other than just minor pick up), and this Saturday happens to be date night! YEAH!
Things I have learned this morning. Sweating hurts when you have been using the strong acne products. OUCH! Jillian Michaels 30 day Shred, Level 2 is a challenge. And I should have previewed it before trying to work out today. My children really can follow directions, mostly.

I think I will start this earlier in the day and just add on as the day goes on. Much easier than trying to remember what all I did at the end of the day.

So I started doing this on Facebook, and honestly it worked. I simply wrote down all the things I do in a day. While I certainly don't do as much as some other people, I'm trying to keep myself busy and do all the things that I need to do in my life. I don't aim to make anyone feel bad, just to record and help keep me accountable for what I need to get done in one day.
A little about me. I'm Sara. I'm married to the Rocket Scientist. Mom to 3 monkeys. Monkey-1 is 7 and in 1st grade. Monkey-2 is 5 and in Pre-K (half day, 5 days a week). Monkey-3 is 3 and in preschool (half-day, 3 days a week). We live a lovely life in Kansas, USA. We own our own home and have been fortunate to avoid the laid off curse of so many people in our part of the world.
I've been extremely lucky and have been at home with the monkeys since Monkey-1 was born. But I'm not sure the stay-at-home mom label fits anymore. While I certainly don't have to go to work and leave my children in child care, I do have a job, or jobs. I work birthday parties a few weekends a month at the local YMCA. I also work in the Kidzone at the YMCA a few evenings a week to keep my children in preschool and give us a little extra cash. I sub at Monkey-2 and Monkey-3's preschool as needed. And those are just the jobs I get paid to do. I am a mom with a camera who often offers to take pictures of friends families. I often agree to watch the neighbor kids to help their mom out. I'm in charge of my Bunco group. Basically, you name it I'll try to take it on!
So what is the point of this blog. To give me a place to be accountable for all the things I want to accomplish in 2010 but don't want to make all my friends on Facebook feel like they are not doing enough. I just need a place to share my thoughts and feelings on my life with the rest of the world (or myself since who knows it anyone will read this). I have a family blog and I have a photography blog, but this is more a daily blog for myself to keep myself in check!
What is on my 2010 to-do list?
