Wednesday 3/10

Nothing much has gotten done today.

• filled the dishwasher and washed the dishes
• washed and dried the light laundry
• went to parent-teacher conferences for the little Monkeys. They are both smart and doing everything they are supposed to be doing.

I vow to get something really done this afternoon. I still have plenty to do.

9:25 pm Update

• Dishwasher ~ emptied, refilled, going to wash
• Light Laundry ~ folded and put away
• White Laundry ~ washed, dried, in a basket for folding tomorrow
• blinds over the sink cleaned
• pendant lights over island and sink cleaned
• Monkey's rooms ~ picked up, vacuumed (Monkey-2 did his room)
• Windows ~ outside of kitchen windows cleaned (the ones I can reach), front door window cleaned outside ~ Most of the insides were done when I put the blinds back into the windows earlier this week

I need motivation for getting back to exercising. I need motivation to remember to brush and floss before going to bed (I'm pretty good about doing it during the day). Next week I'll need motivation to clean my kitchen again because I will have to do it! I need to get outside and walk again. I need to do so much and I never seem to make myself do it. Strange as that may sound considering what all I seem to do in a day.

Tuesday 3/9

I feel happier than I have in weeks! My house is getting put back together, slowly, but getting there!

• cleaned 6 sets of wooden blinds and returned them to their correct spots in the windows (still have to clean the ones over the kitchen sink that didn't get taken down, but will get to it sometime tomorrow probably)
• cleaned the kitchen and living room windows
• cleaned the kitchen walls
• admired my beautiful new floor
• put the pictures back on the walls
• put the knick-knacks back on the shelves in the kitchen and living room
• dusted the shelves in the kitchen and living room

While most of this seems simple it isn't. I'm not trying to figure out what to do with all the other stuff that was just sitting on the shelves and doesn't belong there. I think we will be having a massive Goodwill trip in the near future!

And you might note I haven't done much of the things I'm supposed to be doing today. I noticed that too. The kids rooms are messy and need to be cleaned, but since I can't really clean the kitchen tomorrow, I think I'll be able to do that and get the kitchen stuff done. Plus I'll have two Monkey helpers at home tomorrow!

Monday 3/8

Hello Monday! I'm so glad to see you once again!

• Monkeys off to school
• kitchen ~ cleaned of dust from counter tops
• dishwasher ~ emptied, refilled, washing (mostly empty but needed to wash the stuff that was on the counters during the Great Sanding Event of 2010)
• dark laundry ~ washed, drying
• Towels ~ washed
• bathrooms ~ cleaned, floors mopped
• water

The house feels like a new place, well you know until you walk into the basement and see the stuff we have down there or into the bedrooms which are a HUGE mess. RS is going to sand the floor with a fine grade sandpaper this evening and then will put the last coat of polyurethane on the floor after I get home from work! YEAH!

Saturday 3/6

Ah, thing things I did today:

• I dropped the table top on the Rocket Scientist's finger
• sanded, sanded, and I think I even sanded
• wandered around the West side of town
• took the Monkeys out for doughnuts
• took the Monkeys to Burger King for dinner
• cleaned up after sanding

I'm very, very hopeful that the RS will be able to put on three coats of the polyurethane and then it will be closer to being able to put my house back to right! Maybe anyway!

Thursday 3/4

I know I'm kinda losing this whole cleanliness thing. Here's hoping that my home will be getting back to normal in just a few days when the floor is finished and everything is moved back into the living room and kitchen.

• basement ~ cleaned, vacuumed

I'm not sure if I did anything else other than go to work at the Y.

Tuesday 3/2

Ah, Tuesday. An easy day which is made easier because the living room is not something I can exactly clean at this moment!

• Boy Monkeys' room ~ sheets removed, mattresses flipped, under the bed cleaned, vacuumed, new sheets put on
• Girl Monkey's room ~ sheets removed, floor cleaned, vacuumed, new sheets on bed
• RS and I's room ~ sheets changed
• sheets, quilts, and stuffties ~ washed, dried, put in their spots
• light laundry ~ washed, waiting to be put in the dryer. When will I ever learn not to stop and sit down. It is hard to get started again!
  

Monday 3/1

Welcome to March! I'm thrilled to start a new month. Normally this would be deep cleaning week, but due to the living room remodel, I don't feel deep cleaning would be beneficial to our family this week. Since we will soon be sanding a making a bigger mess, I don't want to do it twice! That said I did deep clean that bathrooms!

• three bathrooms cleaned, including bathtubs and showers and floors scrubbed
• swept and vacuumed up some of the wood dust and what-not
• dark laundry ~ washed, dried, folded, put away
• towels and bath mats ~ washed, dried, folded, and put away (thanks to RS)
• worked at the Y
• teeth brushed
• dinner put in the oven for the family
