Saturday 2/20

First of all.

Starting weight : 202 pounds
Today's weight: 194.0 pounds

Today's activities:

  • Gave away the living room couch (getting new furniture once the new floor is in)
  • vacuumed the living room
  • went to the far side of town with RS and monkeys
  • trying to understand curling. so far this is not looking very good.
I still need to empty and refill the dishwasher, but I have been doing other things instead. I also need to post some things of my family blog, but I'm not sure that will get done.

Friday 2/19

Ah, Friday. I so love when you come to visit.

  • Got the Monkeys off to school. Monkey-1 with grass hut project, Monkey-2 and 3 in their jammies.
  • dishwasher ~ emptied, refilled, washed, ready to be emptied again
  • light laundry ~ washed, dried
  • checking account updated, new online password created (our old one expired tomorrow!)
  • deviled eggs made, trying to not eat them all, have to share
  • walked around the block, jogged part of the way on the second lap (my slow re-intro to exercise)
Friday seems a little slow to me. Not sure why. I'm sure I did something interesting today. Maybe it is because one of my dear friends is trying to keep her twin boys cooking and I'm too busy worrying for and about her!

Tuesday 2/16

Ah, Tuesday! Who knew you were so wonderful! The boy Monkeys returned to school today! YEAH! 4 days off is getting to be too much for me. I think it was the fighting that was actually getting to me. Plus it is hard to clean the house when the Monkeys destroy my hard work before it is even done! So glad to get some stuff done today!

  • Monkeys rooms ~ cleaned, vacuumed
  • RS and my room ~ vacuumed
  • Living room ~ Um, well, I kinda vacuumed, but um, well...Hold on I'll explain in a minute.
  • sheets ~ taken off of all 4 beds (5 if you would like to believe that RS and I have two twin beds ala Lucy and Ricky), new sheets put on, old sheets washed and drying.
  • light laundry ~ washed, dried, folded, and waiting for nap to be finished to be put away in the kids rooms
  • dishwasher ~ emptied
  • teeth brushed
  • Mount Dresser ~ On hold since clothes are lying on my bed. Hopefully will be a post-nap project today
So what is the deal with my living room? Years ago RS and I picked out every little thing for our home. We moved in and already loved the place, but soon, oh so soon, we started hating, no, abhorring the carpet. It was horrible. Gross no matter that no one wore shoes on it. It was just yucky! So we have been talking for the last few years that for our 10th wedding anniversary we are going to extend the hardwood floors that are in our kitchen into the living room and down the hallway. Now you are probably asking yourself what this had to do with anything....well, our 10th anniversary is fast approaching (only 43 more days) and we have our tax refund, so....we did a little hardwood shopping.

Thus leading us to have to wait for the wood to acclimate to our home before we can install the new floor. Well we thought about dragging the wood down the stairs. That didn't happen. We simply pulled up the carpet and put the wood in the living room and rolled the carpet back over the pile. Seriously! The only reason we put the carpet over it was to try to hide it from the chewing dog. She likes to chew on wood. So my living room got smaller and the wood is acclimating as we speak! We are aiming for putting it down in about 2 weeks. I'm hoping to spend part of the upcoming weekend pulling the tack strip up from the living room and hallway!

Things to look forward to in our home!

Monday 2/15

Ah, Monday! Welcome back to reality and trying to get back on track. Or at least to try.

  • Dark laundry ~ washed and dried
  • Towels ~ washed, drying
  • bath mats ~ lying in a pile in the middle of my hallway (oh dear, this isn't good)
  • bathrooms ~ cleaned
  • dishwasher ~ emptied by the Monkeys, refilled by me, probably ready to wash
  • Kids Book Group conquered (meaning we came, we saw, we participated, we ate, we came back home)
  • water
You'll note a few thing missing from my list. Like, say, brushing my teeth. Apparently, I missed that this morning. I so have to get back on routine. Still no exercising yet today. I'm trying to decide if I just want to stay late at the Y after working, but I'm pretty sure that won't happen since there is a KU basketball game this evening. I'll at least do Yoga tonight. Probably at half time. I hope the second half isn't stressful.

Update 3:10 PM:
  • Dark laundry ~ washed, dried, folded, put away
  • Towels ~ washed, dried, folded, put away
  • Bathmats ~ washed, drying
  • Side project of the day ~ Clean my side of the bed ~ Done
  • Side project two ~ clean off Mount Dresser ~ Taunting me from across the room
  • dishwasher ~ washed (in the air dry cycle)
  • Monkey's living in fear of the Rocket Scientist arrive home from work are cleaning the basement (I'm so evil)
  • water
Ah, accomplishments. I love them so. Off to tackle Mount Dresser!

Update 9:42 PM
  • bathmats ~ washed, dried, being put away by RS
  • dishwasher ~ washed, emptied by the Monkeys again, refilled
  • Helped the Monkey's clean their basement disaster before RS came home
  • worked 3 hours at the Y
  • Mount Dresser ~ Still staring at me, taunting me, giggling that I had to help the Monkey's and it avoided the cleaning fate it deserves
  • watching basketball
  • planning to brush my teeth and hit the hay after the basketball game.
You might notice that Yoga is not listed, well, you see, when I got home from work it was already almost half time and I was eating dinner. So it didn't happen. I'm hoping that tomorrow will be better and I'll be able to exercise in the morning and get back on track. Or maybe I'll be able to take a walk tomorrow afternoon. Come one warmer weather!!

Where am I?

Lost, completely and totally lost. I'll be back on Monday though. I'm keeping busy, promise, but just falling off the wagon.

Things to look forward to on Monday: bathrooms, exercising (oh dear, 2 weeks off and I have to go back, darn it), laundry, dishes, and probably a bit of insanity. No school for the Monkeys on Monday due to President's Day. Oh boy!

Wednesday 2/10

Today was a bit of a strange one. I needed to get a few things done this morning so had to wait to clean until this afternoon.

  • cleaned kitchen
  • washed and dried white laundry
  • helped the Monkeys clean up the basement
Trying to recall what else happened today, but it seems like a really crazy day. This whole week has been crazy. Snow day Monday coupled with a sick Monkey and Friday is an inservice day for all the Monkeys. Crazy, crazy week.
